Eltham College Arts Block, Eltham, London

A new art centre for this historic secondary school in south London, the building is to contain gallery and performance spaces, as well as informal teaching areas. It is intended that the project extends the school’s involvement with the local community by hosting events and exhibitions, with the building’s programme allowing dual entry and ‘out of hours’ use.

The structural proposals utilise the plastic nature of in situ reinforced concrete for long span floors, walls, and a complex roof arrangement allowing natural light to permeate through into the lower gallery spaces.

The project is currently at the fund raising stage.
