Garden Sun Dial, Wales

A simple and elegant idea. Stainless steel bars, 8 mm diameter, fix into a concrete base, acting in unison as needles to support a slab of welsh slate. Our only task was to determine an appropriate size for the supporting needles.
The glass dial can be rotated for BST or GMT, and holes drilled through the slate allow sunlight to create the client’s star sign on his birthday.
