Green Mark Residential Building

This 18 storey scheme won a competition held by Southend Council and Glazedale PLC.

It is to be constructed with a reinforced concrete frame using flat slab floors. The floor plates twist by 3 degrees at each storey to create the signature curves which are such a key element of the building's design.

This twist creates a torsional force that is easily resisted by circular core and inclined columns in the facade. The finite element model shows that forces increase towards the base of the building. The foundations are piled.

The scheme is currently being developed for planning.
