Pink House, Sindlesham, Hants

Pink House Pink House

A new timber framed house standing in an orchard. The use of extensive clerestorey windows and double height spaces, make hard work for a conventional timber framed construction. So some elements of steelwork in the form of cranked roof beams have been introduced to achieve the clean spaces demanded by the architects. Difficult ground conditions required piled foundations, but these have been very economically integrated into the construction by a simple flat reinforced concrete ground slab.
