The White Lodge Centre has been in existence since 1963, and was one of the first buildings designed by Broadway Malyan Architects. The original building function, as a special school for children with cerebral palsy, has evolved over the years, and the buildings have become dated. The Respite Centre is the fifth phase of the project that we have been involved with, and its function is to provide a short term care home while families have a short break. The same structural principles have been used as for the previous phases; a lightweight steel frame and shallow foundations.
